    two twitter accounts per wiki

    Mattis Manzel:
The Richmond-wiki (on the page RichmondWiki you find the inclusions) provides two twitter-feeds. One for the recent changes and one with notes about the wiki. This is a good idea. What I might do is forward the feed for the page face into a second twitter account. There should be a short summary (best the page summary itself) as text followed by the link to the respective day-page face. Hmm. Following the twitter account for the face of a wiki is less voluminous, who wants more can follow the regular twitter account twitter - city-wiki-center including our soup. That applies for identi.ca accounts as well.

contents from the original Melbourne-wiki recovered, feed inclusion

    MattisManzel:
I recovered as much as I could find of the original Melbourne wiki from the internet archive [1] and moved the contents into the new Melbourne-wiki. You find links on the page Melbourne.

I searched for Melbourne rss in the Australian Google and included some random feeds into pages on the web-site list. Almost every feed can be included into the Melbourne-wiki, Oddmuse is good for that. So if you know a Melbourne blog or whatever that should have a home page here drop the url in the talk, please. I will show you how to do it. It's not that difficult.

So, what are the future plans for the eTerra? Where are we headed? What can we do with the eTerra? What tools and resources do we need to get the eTerra off the ground? – SamRose

    MattisManzel:
Well, Sam. True. We shall not forget about the central thing over all the joy about SecondLife including VoIP now and the degree of online-communication gaining 1000 x and so on, no, not shall we forget the central thing which is to move the power over almighty money from the hands of a few “J.P. Morgan”-clones to all people. “People have the power” Patti sang when I was 17 and I knew she's simply right back then. I still do. Where people do not you have to hack it, I found out meanwhile. Simply. For example money. People do not have the power over money. We need a nice and elegant little hack here.
    So, eTerra,, yes.
I miss sigi, it's his noodles it cooked up in. The basic thing is to understand that what we live in now is a far worse “pilote's game”, a much more out of any reasonable control snowball process than it would be if people would communicate, take over the vessel and steer it commonly. Money is an agreement, we change that agreement by presenting an obviously better as transparent new money. All open source. All controlled by the community.
It remains a pilot's game however. Life is one in a way. Even evolution is. ;)

Sigi made it up in real-life, for many, many years. The amount of all existing new money, let's say eTerra for simplicity reasons, is constantly, permanently and everlasting 1 (in words one).
This is the essential difference already. All know constantly how much money exists. Today nobody knows it. There is inflation. Noone really understands why but all accept it. What do you call a program that has a permanently overflowing cache?

Sigis idea is you exchange today's corrupt money into clean nice eTerras. Say you are early and there is only us two. I exchanged 1000 Euros to eTerras. I do not own the 1000 Euros anymore. I do own 1000 times a graining A of one eTerra (all of all ever existing money, remember). You come in, exchange the equivalent to me. The next graining, B, comes in. Now we own 500 eTerra graining B each. That's the boring version. Me owning 666 eTerras and you 333 is the snowball version sigi operates with. We need an algorithm, the members deciding about the parameters (sliders, hihi) that makes a good middleway between the two extremes.

The Eterrabank and CommunityWikiBank ideas were really inspiring.

It would be interesting to think about what do with those energies. I think they progressed very well, but not to the point of actually seeing something funded, for instance.

Personally, I've been interested in thinking about how the eTerra could be an OpenCurrency? for different projects. One idea I have is to make it the currency of a PredictionMarket?, that benefits certain projects. Then to have those projects, and other groups accept eTerra in exchange for goods and services.

    MattisManzel:
And now to something completely different:

I just gave someone the link to Automatix. You had the live-cd idea on the Solari-toolkit-wiki. Couldn't one make all participants - like to an eTerra currency system, a transparent currency needs such - connect to such a system? I'm sorry, lost a bit track on the eTerra, but it's about the hack of mankind, actually. Create someting better and getting rid of the sick global monetary system. See it as a program. What would you do? Rewrite it from scratch, yes. Exactly what I would do, see?

Very welcome currency for open project, sure. I have to translate from the stuff on the ETerraDe:StirnSeite, and having sigi around would be mighty cool, but I lost him. Ho sigi, wi· ge·ts?

    SamRose:

Hey Mattis, I just realized this reply was here. AutoMatix? is actually quite amazing. Thanks for letting me know about that.

    Happy new year everyone.

Nick Szabo has a wide range of essays on various currencies , from pre-historic (“Shelling Out – The Origins of Money”) to computerized (“digital bearer certificate”). Would eTerra be a good place to discuss those essays?

MattisManzel: took a short look at them, interesting. The eTerra-wiki would be a good place for a discussion, I think.

On this wiki I am currently trying out a new css the sheep wrote.
