mouring border, proposal for a solution to the current technical limits
Mattis Manzel:
I put a mourning border around the icon for the kabo-wiki-list to diversify it from the main wiki kabo-wiki-hive, its icon has has no margin. Both wikis together make a “dual-core-wiki”, kinda.
SamRose wrote an excellent page on community-wiki? explaining about the current technical limits of the set up of the kabo-wiki-hive (and of others) proposing a solution. “WikiNetGrid looks like a lot of work.”

over the limit
Mattis Manzel:
Ok, there are limits and I’m learning about them. I have been adding all kind of more or less useful feeds for months to the wikis in the kabo-wiki-hive in order to find out about the limits of feed aggregation in oddmuse. On the various “sub-wikis” (= name spaces) I recognized a moderate slow down that is still acceptable considering the various feed inclusions. “I’m getting closer to the limit.” I thought. Then, returning to care for the main wiki kabo-wiki-hive which I hadn’t touched for a while, I realized that I’m already far over the limit. Feeds for the main wiki can’t be burned in feedburner anymore (feed validator says time out) and it is awfully slow.
I’m going to deactivate high traffic feeds on the kabo-wikis: blog-, video-, friends-xxx-wiki-feeds to see if the main wiki returns to normal speed.
Started with what hurts most: the one big xxx pages in the whoRthey-wiki. To see if there’s any effect. I’m not sure if there is.

recently on irc #oddmuse
mattis^: added feeds like mad these months, maybe hit the ceiling?
samrose: I think so
mattis^: puts on a helmet
later:
samrose: someday there may be a new way to do this rss stuff that works with oddmuse, remove the parsing from oddmuse engine
mattis^: sounds good, useful, globally collaborative

Describe the new page here.
feeds
[Mattis Manzel]?:
An idea: A new day-page-set titled feeds. The feeds burned by ‘google feedburner - obm-wiki-list’, kinda. Currenty 43 feeds. The resulting feeds-feed goes into obm-wiki, all feeds and [whoRthey-wiki - one big feed]?.
The page day-page-sets only lists the feeds directly provided by the obm-wiki-list itself. The page feeds on the other hand would list all the feeds “cared for under the roof” of the obm-wiki-list. I have to experiment to become more precise.
Icon: A small rss-icon (the one used for the changes) in the complete eclipse used for the obm-wiki-list complete.
