Michael Zomber: Respectable Author Talks About His Books

As a historian with a deep passion for oriental culture, he felt compelled to write some books about Japan. Shogun Iemitsu: War and Romance in 17th Century Tokugawa Japan reflects Zomber’s interest in Japanese history. In an in-depth online interview that was released on the iUniverse system, Zomber talked about this particular title. Featuring historical references, Zomber’s iUniverse podcast gives the audience a good understanding of the Shogun Iemitsu: War and Romance in 17th Century Tokugawa Japan.

Michael Zomber originally hails from a rural part of Pennsylvania. During his early childhood, he discovered a Springfield rifle that perhaps sparked his interest in American history and antique firearms. The young mike casually strolled a historic general store that displayed a Springfield 1873 model rifle. After he walked out of that small museum, he felt a deep connection to his nation’s military history. By the time he graduated from multiple universities in the United States, Zomber was eager to collect weapons. As a college graduate, Zomber did not immediately pursue a career that was related to his multiple degrees in literature. Instead, he went on an international quest to collect antique firearms.

After collecting unique weapons for decades, Michael Zomber has acquired some impressive items such as samurai swords. His personal collection surely gives him a good understanding of Japanese culture. In fact, Michael Zomber appeared on the History Channel’s Guns of the Orient. As the name implies, this show is about firearms that have been used in Asia for centuries. Additionally, Zomber appeared on the network’s other shows such as Guns of the Famous.

Even though he is a passionate collector of antique firearms, Michael Zomber has been a pacifist for quite some time. As a member of Amnesty International and other similar organizations, he hopes to support peaceful initiatives all over the world. In his personal life, Michael is a loyal husband and caring father of two children.
